Usher Named President/CEO

The Board of Directors of Marion Health voted to cease their current CEO Search and unanimously approve Paul L. Usher, FACHE, CPA, FHFMA, as the official President and CEO of Marion General Hospital. Usher has led Marion Health as Interim President and CEO since the resignation of David L. Callecod in May.

“During this period, Paul has done a fantastic job to continue to provide the highest level of quality and customer-driven healthcare services,” states William H. Rea, Chairman of the Board. “He has also been very effective in working to build stronger relationships with the medical staff of Marion Health.”

The Board’s decision came about due to recent significant changes in the region’s healthcare environment such as the I-69 project and the sale of Cardinal Health System. These significant changes create an immediate need for Marion Health to move forward with proven leadership in the future to determine the best course of action for both the community and MGH.

Usher officially requested he be given the opportunity to lead Marion Health, during this critical time, by letter to the Board. He has full support of the Board as he starts his duties as MGH’s official President and CEO and continues to provide proven leadership to the finest healthcare professionals and physicians in the state of Indiana.
